USADB News: Kyle Bingham Played in Indiana Elite All-Stars Challenge Game!

Posted: May 4, 2012

Kyle is selected to play in an All Star game!

Kyle’s coach, Mr. Dennis Catron explained that our ISD student-athlete Kyle represented his school and skills by taking the part of North Elite and South All Star basketball Challenge at Lebanon. He played with the finest players in the state including some who played in IHSAA state championship games. Kyle scored five points and grabbed 3 rebounds in the all star game. His team took the loss in an exciting game at the score of 78-89.

It was a great experience for him to play at that level and certainly hope it would open door for our future players to be part of this opportunity someday. Kudos to Kyle for a great showcase!

Kyle comments: “It was a great experience for me to play with all hearing players from all around schools in Indiana. I was proud to be able to represent for my school. I want to express my gratitude to Coach Dennis and Athletic Director Paul Wood for their support."

DSA STARS Basketball Camp

Posted: March 26, 2012

Dear our community members,

The Deaf Sports Academy (DSA) has been working very hard on a gigantic project that we are very excited to bring to you all this coming summer. We will be hosting the first ever annual STARS Basketball Camp for children aged 8-18. Deaf, hard of hearing, CODAs, and hearing children are welcome to sign up for the week-long camp that will be held at the California School for the Deaf, Riverside, during the week of July 22-27, 2012. They will experience a high quality basketball fundamentals program that will enhance not only their basketball skills and knowledge, but also encourage them to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship, leadership, and teamwork. The camp staff will consist of elite basketball players and coaches who have many, many years of experience combined among them, which will in turn provide our campers with a rich experience during the camp that they will bring with them throughout their lives.

You can go to our website, www.dsastars.org, to find more information about the camp and registration. Please don't hesitate to send us an email at DSAStars @ gmail.com if you have any questions about the STARS Basketball Camp.
